We welcomed our mothers to the Delta Chi house this past weekend with hugs, smiles, and rooms so clean they never once felt the need to nag. For many of the newer members, this was the first time their mothers had the chance to see the place we call home on campus. The older guys’ moms saw yet another installment in the growing brotherhood.
We kicked off the weekend Saturday afternoon with a mother-son bowling tournament at AMF Lanes. Brother Travis Hawks and his mother, Carla Hawks, kicked butt with a combined score of 278!
Then we all headed to the Heidelberg for dinner and an intense trivia game hosted by our very own Ryan “Catfish” McLaughlin. With the help of Cyndie Jones, Andrew’s mother, Team Wundy took the win in a nail-biting tie breaker.
We wrapped up the weekend Sunday morning with brunch at Boone Tavern (best Crêpes in town), after which mothers and sons toured Columbia on their own. A lot of the moms took their sons grocery shopping, an added bonus!
